PRESS RELEASE: Foundation Moving Forward in 2015

THE ROLLINS FAMILY FOUNDATION STAYS ROOTED IN PHILADELPHIA

PHILADELPHIA, January 5, 2015 – After playing for the Philadelphia Phillies and calling Philadelphia home for more than 14 years, Jimmy Rollins will continue to keep his foundation active in the Delaware Valley even after his trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers was made official December, 2014. “Over the years the foundation has helped to improve the lives of children in the Tri-state area but we feel our new mission is our most important work thus far. We made great progress in 2014 and look to continue to build on that momentum,” says Jimmy.

The Rollins Family Foundation will continue their work with the SHARE Food Program, The Food Trust and St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children-Farm to Families initiative. In addition to their work with these Delaware Valley organizations, The Rollins Family Foundation will look to expand and partner with Los Angeles based organizations as well to share resources and partner with projects that help families gain access to fresh food.

In 2014 The Rollins Family Foundation announced their partnership with The Food Trust’s HYPE Program which is committed to empowering and educating youth in the area to make healthy choices; the SHARE Food Program committed to providing families access to affordable fresh food and educating families on the importance of making healthy nutritional choices; and St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children-Farm to Families Initiative which provides children and families access to fresh food and offers age appropriate education as well as an incentive program to provide low cost produce on a regular basis to families most in need.
